SORCHA O’RAGHALLAIGH SS14 collection is inspired by the sculptures of artist Alfred Gilbert. Featuring the silhouettes of traditional garments, set off with heavy embroidery, the collection comes up with a twist: from a distance, the viewer sees lashings of precious metals. However when you come closer, you notice the spiky cuffs and neckpieces, comprised of clusters of safety-pins. It’s the element of surprise, the ability to create beauty that packs a punch, that has gained Sorcha fans such as Lady Gaga and Beyonce, who was wearing this collection in the music video ‘Mine’.
